Job summary

Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Teacher for the LSUA Children’s Center. The role involves supervising children, supporting the lead teacher, preparing materials, assisting with hygiene and meals, and maintaining a clean classroom.

Required to be 18+, pass a background check, and obtain Pediatric First Aid/CPR licensure; childcare experience preferred. Background check is mandatory for hire and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to pass a Child Care Background Check.
• Must be able to obtain Pediatric First Aid/CPR licensure.
• Previous experience in childcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
• Assist assigned Teacher in planning curriculum and implementing the daily program.
• Prepare bulletin boards and visuals with children’s art or lesson materials.
• Assist with diapering, potty, feeding, and related care.
• Keep the classroom clean, neat, and orderly; aid with restrooms and floors.
