Job summary

Louisiana State University of Alexandria seeks an Assistant Teacher for the Children's Center to supervise and ensure the safety of the children while supporting the lead teacher with curriculum and daily activities.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean classroom, communicating with parents, documenting daily activities, and participating in licensing hours and trainings as required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to pass a Child Care Background Check.
• Must be able to obtain Pediatric First Aid/CPR licensure.
• Previous experience in childcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Know at all times how many children are in your care and their names and ages.
• Report to the director any special needs, problems, or cases of suspected abuse or neglect.
• Assist the lead teacher with planning curriculum and implementing the daily program.
• Prepare bulletin boards and visuals and help with meals.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly classroom and facilities.
• Communicate with parents daily about needs and activities.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and information.
• Attend in-service workshops to complete licensing hours and learn center policies.
