Job summary

Park District of LaGrange is seeking an Early Childhood Aide for a part-time position within the Recreation Department. The role assists the Lead Instructor with early childhood programs, helps with classroom setup and cleanup, maintains attendance records and student files, and supports basic program operations.

The position requires a positive attitude, punctuality, adaptability, and the ability to follow instructions and work well with children and parents in a dynamic, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Park District policies concerning early childhood programming.
• Ability to maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations.
• Ability to work harmoniously with all employees within the Park District.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and setting up the classroom before each program.
• Assist in cleaning and setting up the classroom after each program.
• Assist in record keeping (attendance sheets, individual student records).
• Keep informed on current teaching trends and incorporate them into the program.
• Attend seasonal staff meetings and assist with maintaining supplies and equipment.
