Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support for an adult with Down syndrome in Hunterdon County. The role emphasizes building trust, encouraging participation in daily activities, and promoting independence.

You will work Tue, Wed, and Thu from 1:00–6:00 PM in Califon, NJ 07830, with pay listed at 19–21 per hour. This position requires reliable schedule adherence and driving on shift is REQUIRED.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• Experience in DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving is helpful but may not be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in community outings.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, and social activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Assist with goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.
