Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time driver in Omaha North Corps to provide safe transportation for youth and adults to programs and services. Duties include vehicle checks, on-route engagement, and assistance with program activities, snacks, and donations as directed by Corps Officers.

Ideal candidates may have a high school diploma or GED and will train on the job. Must pass background checks and have a valid driver's license. Position requires driving as an essential function.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Access payroll/timekeeping data via a web-based system.
• Administrative tasks: data entry, 10-key, filing with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Visual inspection of vehicles before and after pickup routes.
• Safely transport youth and adults to programs.
• Engage passengers in positive conversation on routes.
• Obey traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Communicate issues to Corps Officers.
• Ensure passengers are supervised before leaving.
• Return the vehicle at route end.
• Assist with snacks or meals for participants.
• Support children's emotional and social development.
• Assist with program areas as needed (supervision, gym activities, etc).
• Assist with donation pickups as directed by Corps Officers.
• Driving is an essential function of the position.
• All other duties as assigned.
