Job summary

Cox Automotive in Orlando seeks a reliable vehicle mover/driver to safely move, stage, and park cars on Auction property. You will drive to and from auction lots and customer facilities, and navigate sale lanes during events while following safety rules.

The role includes basic vehicle servicing such as tire inflation and jump-starts, assisting customers, and maintaining orderly vehicle lines. Overtime may be required; a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk and enter/exit vehicles repeatedly.
• Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Availability for early shift and overtime if required.
• Prior auction or automotive yard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days.
• Move vehicles to designated areas on premises and to customer dealerships.
• Park vehicles in correct order under supervisor direction.
• Assist with getting vehicles operating when needed; inflate tires and perform jump-starts.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and participate in Safety Excellence.
• Overtime may be required.

Job description

This position is responsible for the safe moving, staging, and parking of vehicles on Auction property, driving vehicles to and from Auction lots and customer businesses, and driving vehicles through Auction sale lanes on designated sale days and in compliance with Auction safety rules and regulations.

Mon. and Tues. 7am - 6pm, Wed. 6am - 5pm

The schedule is subject to change as business requires.

Pay rate: $17.52 per hr.

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, and rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
• Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed. Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank if necessary. Notify the supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify the Service or Gas Truck Driver when the vehicle is out of gas.
• Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications:

• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required
• Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to walk long distances.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing are frequently required.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous auction experience preferred.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission

Work Environment: Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

USD 17.52 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is $17.52. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
