Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking an Associate I, Donation Services to greet customers dropping off items at our retail centers and stand-alone donation centers. This part-time role involves unloading donations from vehicles and processing items for the sales floor, all while delivering friendly service.

The position works outdoors in all weather conditions and requires basic computer skills and the ability to lift and move donation items.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of retail experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills to log into a computer system and email.
• English communication skills required.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer product questions.
• Unload donations from vehicles or other areas.
• Sort donated items into proper bins for sales or shipping.
• Inspect donations and determine handling for sales floor or distribution.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment at donation entrances and parking areas.
• Support remote donation centers and manage supplies.
• Track donation levels and report when trailers near capacity.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading donations.
• Follow safety procedures and cross-train in other areas.
• Report to the ADC or stand-alone center as needed.
• Possibly perform additional duties as required.

Pay: $16.45 Hr.

Donation hours at our Stores are Monday through Saturday 8AM to 8:30PM and Sunday 9AM to 7PM.

This position greets our customers and accepts their donations in an efficient and courteous manner.This position works outside in all weather conditions. Excellent customer service skills are a must!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers that are dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand-alone donation centers (ADC). The Donation Services Associates will provide excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers timely and helping as needed that may include lifting or unloading donations from a customers vehicle or other area. Associates are expected to handle goods with care, showing respect for items donated.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides excellent customer service, greeting customers in a timely manner, answering product questions as needed.
• Assists every customer by unloading donations from vehicle or other areas.
• Ensure that donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
• Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or to be shipped to other locations.
• Ensures a safe, organized, and clean environment is maintained for both customers and fellow employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
• Maintain remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailer if applicable, following appropriate opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site.
• Ensure supplies are kept well stocked at remote site as necessary.
• Tracks and reports on donation levels daily to ensure trailers do not become over stocked when working in remote donation center locations.
• Timely communication when donation warehouse and/or trailer(s) are becoming full and a truck is needed.Follows all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
• Assist drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck when necessary.
• Follows all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Crosstrain in other departments or areas; act as a back-up for other areas as required.
• May be required to report to the store ADC or stand-alone center when necessary.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Education:

• A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

• One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.

• Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
• Must have basic computer skills to be able to log into a computer system to order supplies and to send and receive email.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures*.
• Must be able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
