Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a part-time Donation Attendant. You will be the first point of contact for donors, delivering friendly service while handling donations and supporting store operations.

This role requires high school diploma or in progress, good English, basic computer and math skills, and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Paid training and opportunities to grow in a mission-driven team are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.
• Must be available for flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist donors with exceptional service.
• Process and track donations accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized donation area.
• Sort, load, and unload Salvation Army trucks per center policy.
• Power sort donations as they arrive where applicable.
• Support production processes as needed.
• Safeguard donated materials and equipment.
• Report any complaints, damage, or injuries in the donation area.
• Guide donors on acceptable materials and pickup services for heavy items.
