Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a Nursing Director to oversee all home care clinical services and to establish goals that align with the Agency’s mission. This leadership role focuses on high-quality patient care in our Castro Valley operations.

The position reports to the Administrator and provides supervision to Clinical Supervisors and direct care staff. Responsibilities include strategic planning, policy development, budgeting, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice.
• Two (2) years' homecare experience; one (1) year supervisor experience; and either a bachelor prepared nurse with three (3) years' experience within the last five (5), or a non-bachelor prepared nurse with four (4) years' experience within the last five (5).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor all direct and indirect services provided to Agency home care clients.
• Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and budgeting for the Agency.
• Develop and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Maintain communication with medical practitioners and assess new client eligibility for home care.
• Oversee medical record reviews, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
• Implement and evaluate orientation, in-service, and continuing education programs for staff.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and clinical operations to support client-specific care needs.
• Administer the Agency’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and perform client assessments as needed.
