Job summary

Abound Health is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Monroe, NC, working Mondays and Wednesdays from 12p-6p. The role focuses on providing caregiving, ADL assistance, and community participation to individuals with IDD, helping them live more independently.

The DSP will build relationships, support daily living activities, and monitor safety, with paid onboarding and training, paid weekly pay, and opportunities for advancement within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules
• Complete ongoing training and professional development
• Flexible schedules (full-time and part-time opportunities)
