Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Day Program in Long Beach, CA. You will coach and engage individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, leading workshops and providing direct care and documentation.

The role offers a part-time schedule, Monday–Friday 12:30pm–5:30pm, with weekends off, and a starting pay of $21.75/hour, with progression to $24.25/hour over time.

Qualifications

• Six months or more experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• High school Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company van.
• Comfortable providing personal care and behavioral support.
• Adaptable with a positive attitude and initiative.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Good reading, writing and communication for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Lead workshops and activities such as art, music, games, reading, and life skills.
• Teach daily living skills like cooking and money management.
• Lead outings and ongoing engagement activities.
• Assist with personal care and behavior support daily.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Document daily outcomes in the electronic system.
