Job summary

March-Inc in East Hartford, CT is seeking a Direct Support Professional for 25 hours per week to provide individualized support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The DSP must work with or without supervision, cooperate in a team, handle crises calmly, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include meal planning, leisure activities, transportation, personal hygiene, documentation, and coordinating medical appointments.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation.
• Experience working with people who are intellectually/developmentally disabled preferred.
• Current driver's license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instruction and assistance in accordance with each person’s individual need.
• Medication administration.
• Meal planning and preparation; follow dietary guidelines.
• Transportation and accompanying individuals to appointments.
• Documentation of care, goals, and incidents; maintain logs and records.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with families and staff.
• Attend required staff meetings and participate in ongoing trainings.
