Job summary

County of DuPage seeks a Part-Time Dining Services Worker for the Care Center. Training is available for this position, with shifts 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., including every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Duties include meal assembly, stocking, cleaning, cashiering, and assisting residents. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED or relevant experience; must follow verbal and written instructions; post-offer physical and background check required.

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

Responsibilities

  • Work on a meal assembly line at an assigned station, placing specified food, condiments, napkins, utensils, etc., transport completed trays, sanitize trays and serving lines, wash dishes and pots/pans, serve meals to residents in the Resident Dining Room, and assist residents in opening packages and cutting food as needed
  • Receive and stock/put away items in the storeroom, kitchen, and cafes, and clean the kitchen, resident dining room, and cafeteria
  • Act as a cashier, ringing up transactions and tendering cash
  • Take food orders and assemble orders in an accurate and timely manner

Dining Services Worker responsibilities vary based on the assigned area as follows:
  • Work on a meal assembly line at an assigned station, placing specified food, condiments, napkins, utensils, etc., transport completed trays, sanitize trays and serving lines, wash dishes and pots/pans, serve meals to residents in the Resident Dining Room, and assist residents in opening packages and cutting food as needed

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

A post offer physical is required. A pre-employment background check is required.
