Menorah Park of CNY in Syracuse, NY, is seeking a part-time food service team member to support meal preparation and service in a hospital-style setting. The role includes weekend work with a two weekends on, one off rotation, and occasional every-other-weekend scheduling when possible.

The position pays $17.50–$18.00 per hour, with hours ranging from 7am to 7pm, and potential 8pm nights. Benefits include weekly pay, tuition reimbursement, bus route access, and free onsite parking.

Formación

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly

Responsabilidades

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
• Serves meals in the main kitchen
• Assists with meal service set up in the main kitchen. Clearing tables, washing dishes, and cleaning tables on various resident care floors.
• Transports hot and cold foods to and from the main kitchen to the resident care areas
• Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries and resident care areas
• Washes silver, glass, china in dish machine in main kitchen as per regulation
• Provides floor stock, snacks and supplements per diet orders
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
• Maintains work stations in clean, organized, and in proper order
• Takes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
• Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items
• Ensures that meal tray accurately matches the meal ticket
• Maintains kosher regulations and requirements as per policy
