Job summary

Fairport Rehab & Nursing Center in Fairport, NY is seeking a Part-Time Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker to join our Dietary Services team. The role supports residents by preparing meals, maintaining safety, and delivering food in a clean setting.

Pay is $16.00 per hour with 22.5 hours weekly. Day or evening shifts, weekends required. Eligible employees receive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred, but not required.
• Basic understanding of food handling, preparation, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work independently, remain flexible, and demonstrate personal integrity.
• Comfortable interacting professionally with residents, staff, visitors, volunteers, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation, including portioning, plating, and serving meals.
• Perform basic food handling while following proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Deliver food carts safely and efficiently to resident households and dining areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
• Perform general cleaning of the kitchen, workstations, and food service areas.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Assist the Dietary Services team with additional duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services.
• Provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, visitors, and staff.
