Job summary

Park Meadows Health and Rehab Center in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Part-Time Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation, service, and cleanup for residents, ensuring nutritious, safe, and properly prepared meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and physician orders.

You will work with the dietary staff and healthcare team to portion meals, serve residents with various dietary needs, maintain kitchen and dining area sanitation, and help monitor food temperatures and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED commonly preferred.
• Food handler certification may be required in Florida or provided on the job.
• Ability to follow instructions and dietary guidelines.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate weight.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food items according to menus and dietary plans.
• Serve meals and beverages to residents, including those with special dietary needs (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed diets).
• Assist residents who may need help eating.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and food prep areas.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines (per Florida health standards).
• Store food properly and monitor temperatures.
• Work with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Report any issues with food quality or resident intake.
