Job summary

CURA of Melrose is looking for a dependable Dietary Aide to support our kitchen team in preparing ingredients and assisting with meal production in a healthcare environment.

This part-time role covers every other weekend and holiday rotations, with shifts from 6:30am to 3:00pm and approximately 32 hours per pay period. You will assist with prep, food safety, and keeping the kitchen organized to ensure high-quality patient meals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen work preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team setting.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen tasks.
• Flexibility to work part-time hours, including potential evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of ingredients following established recipes and standards.
• Wash, peel, chop, and portion fruits, vegetables, and other food items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines strictly to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
• Stock and organize food supplies under the guidance of the Cook or Dietary Manager.
• Support kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and consistent quality.
