Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking an Adjunct Dentist Faculty – Didactic to provide high-quality, evidence-based classroom instruction that supports the Dental Hygiene Program’s mission and outcomes. Under the Program Director’s supervision, you will develop content, evaluate students, and model professional standards.

Instruction hours are Mon–Fri between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with schedule variations based on staffing and needs.

Qualifications

• Clinical dental practice experience.
• Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental program.
• Current Maryland dental license in active status or eligibility.
• Minimum of two years of clinical practice or related teaching experience.
• Current BLS/CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Ability to meet college, program, and regulatory requirements (health, immunization, background checks).

Responsibilities

• Provide didactic instruction in line with course objectives and CODA standards.
• Develop, deliver, and evaluate lectures, exams, assignments and activities.
• Evaluate student performance with timely grading and feedback.
• Use instructional strategies that promote engagement and critical thinking.
• Maintain communication with the Program Director and faculty about course activities and student concerns.
• Utilize the College LMS and approved technologies for teaching and documentation.
• Meet with students as needed for academic support and remediation.
• Maintain instructional records and submit grades/attendance per policy.
• Participate in faculty meetings, orientations, development, and compliance training.
• Maintain all licenses/credentials and fulfill continuing education requirements.
• Stay current with subject matter and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Support program assessment, accreditation, curriculum improvement, and QA initiatives.
• Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, professional learning environment.
• Fulfill duties for the assignment term, including pre/post-term activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Dean, or College administration.
