Job summary

Portland Community College is accepting applications for Part-time Faculty openings for Dental Assisting. The program is located in the Vanport Building in downtown Portland, Oregon.

Instructor qualifications include CDA, Oregon Radiology Proficiency, Oregon EFDA and Sealant Certificates; a Bachelor’s Degree is required and five years of full-time clinical experience either as a chair-side assistant or as a dental assisting instructor.

Qualifications

• Instructor must have current CDA, Oregon Radiology Proficiency, Oregon EFDA and Sealant Certificates.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Clinical Experience of 5 years in a FT position as chair-side or as a dental assisting instructor.
• A dental hygiene or dentist license could substitute for the certificates.
• Continuing education in relevant areas is expected.
• Experience in curriculum design or teaching (Human Relations).

Responsibilities

• Related Instruction embedded in courses with evidence of ongoing education.
• Assist in curriculum development and delivery for dental assisting courses.
