Bunker Hill Community College is seeking a Part-Time Course Facilitator to teach the didactic and hands-on components of the Dental Assisting Program at our Chelsea campus. The role involves connecting textbook concepts to real chairside procedures in a dental training facility.

The facilitator will use Modern Dental Assisting, 14th Edition, follow the program curriculum, and provide clear instruction, supervision, and constructive feedback to students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Formal education and professional experience in dental assisting, dentistry, dental hygiene, or a closely related dental field.
• Strong knowledge of dental-assisting procedures, terminology, instruments, materials, infection control, and chairside techniques.
• Ability to teach didactic material clearly and translate textbook concepts into hands-on classroom activities.
• Experience in dental office, clinic, educational lab, or clinical training environment.
• Commitment to student success and ability to work with diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic material from Modern Dental Assisting, 14th Edition.
• Follow the established curriculum and course schedule.
• Use prepared presentations, quizzes, and examinations.
• Develop hands-on practical exercises reinforcing didactic content.
• Demonstrate procedures, equipment, and clinical workflows.
• Guide students in a fully functioning dental training facility.
• Record attendance and maintain grades in the college system.
• Communicate student progress to program administration.
• Attend required meetings and program-development activities.
