Job summary

Familia Dental in Springfield, IL is hiring 1 Part-time Dental Assistant to join our dental team. On-the-job training is provided, and no certification is required to start. You will support the clinical team in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and help deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, maintaining treatment areas, and assisting the dentist with procedures and patient education, while adhering to state laws and office policies.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer/patient service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software (Denticon preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
• Detail oriented and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and escort patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ensure treatment rooms are stocked and inventory is managed.
• Take and record patient medical and dental histories and vital signs.
• Document all dental procedures per Dentist’s instructions and legal requirements.
• Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
• Pour, base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations (as allowed by state law).
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up trays, prepare materials, assist Dentist.
• Provide dental education to patients on oral health and hygiene.
