Northern Counties Health Care, Inc. is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support patients at Orleans Dental Center and Northern Counties Dental Center. The role will be shared between both clinics, assisting dentists and dental teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The position involves chair-side support, patient preparation, radiography assistance, sterilization, and basic administrative tasks such as scheduling and record-keeping, with emphasis on accuracy and compassion in patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Dental Radiography course (preferred).
• One year of experience in a dental practice setting (preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
• Proficient computer skills (EMR, email, spreadsheets, and document processing).
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Physically able to assist patients, stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must work well under stress and around bodily fluids.
• Must conduct oneself ethically and report any possible violations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dentist during procedures and seat/discharge patients.
• Prepare set-ups and ensure patient comfort.
• Take x-rays and impressions.
• Assist the Dental Hygienist as necessary.
• Construct and seat/cement temporaries.
• Pour dental models and fabricate mouth guards and fluoride trays.
• Document clinical activities in dental records per protocols.
• Clean and sterilize instruments.
• Participate in QA and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Meet productivity standards set by supervisor and protocols.
