Job summary

Colorado Department of Corrections Delta facility is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support the dentist in providing routine and emergency dental care within a prison clinic setting. You will manage scheduling, infection control, tool control, and compliance with safety regulations while assisting in chair-side procedures for inmates.

Qualified applicants will have two years of relevant dental assisting experience or an accredited program with X-ray certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time dental assistant experience providing chair side assistance to adults.
• Substitution: accredited dental assisting program may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience with infection control and radiography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain digital x-rays and set up restorative procedures.
• Educate inmates about preventive dental health care.
• Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated waste.
• Monitor radiation safety and infection control guidelines.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Assist with workload planning and inmate appointment scheduling.
• Provide ACA-related support and file maintenance.
