Job summary

Commonwealth Dentistry in Kentucky is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join our growing group practice. You will assist the dentist during procedures, take and develop radiographs, and help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of dental assisting experience, X-Ray Certification preferred, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Ask about patient medical history and monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse).
• Serve as infection control officer and maintain sterile instruments and area.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.

Join our team as a Dental Assistant at Commonwealth Dentistry! We are a growing, group practice dedicated to providing exceptional dental care to our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a supportive staff and contribute to delivering an unmatched dental experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• assisting the dentist during various treatment procedures
• taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
• asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
• serving as an infection control officer
• preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• providing instructions for post-treatment oral care
• teaching oral hygiene strategies
• taking impressions of patients' teeth
• assisting in all dental specialties

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in dental assisting. X-Ray Certification is preferred. You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to provide compassionate patient care. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work well within a team are also important.
