Sacbar in Danville, CA is seeking an exceptional Dental Assistant to join our growing, privately owned practice. This in-person role supports the clinical team with room preparation, chairside assistance during procedures, and patient education.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Proficient with Dentrix for patient data management.
  • Strong infection control, sterilization, and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to operate X-ray machines and dental equipment.
  • Familiar with dental terminology and anatomy.
  • Excellent communication with the dental team and patients.
  • X-ray certification or radiography training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing instruments per infection control guidelines.
  • Assist dentists chairside during X-ray imaging, endodontics, extractions, and prosthodontics.
  • Take digital dental X-rays following HIPAA privacy rules.
  • Manage patient records with Dentrix, keeping documentation up to date.
  • Record vital signs and document medical information for cosmetic and rehabilitative cases.
  • Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection prevention standards.

Duties
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including X-ray imaging, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Take digital dental X-rays, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
  • Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially in complex cosmetic and rehabilitative cases.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance their understanding and comfort.
  • Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting procedures.
  • Proficiency in Dentrix for managing patient data efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention expertise.
  • Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, dental instruments, and other clinical tools with precision.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry procedures to support effective clinical assistance.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with the dental team.
  • Certification in radiography (X-ray certification) preferred.
