Job summary

Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry in Durham, NC is seeking a Dental Assistant II for a 3-day-a-week, part-time role at our Wakefield/Durham location. You will assist the dentist, prepare treatment plans, manage instruments, and maintain equipment while delivering compassionate patient care.

Requirements include DAII training or equivalent, 2–5 years’ experience, CDA certification or radiology equivalency, CPR certification or within 30 days, and familiarity with Eaglesoft/Denticon is a plus.

Qualifications

• DAII Training or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of Dental Assistant experience.
• CPR certification, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance to patients.
• Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon is a plus.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork and initiative.
• Flexibility to travel to other locations within the practice.

Responsibilities

• Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment.
• Functions as a treatment coordinator and prepares and presents treatment plans to patients.
• Schedules patient appointments to accommodate potential obstacles.
• Maintains dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Collects and records patient health histories.
• Assists with patient management during dental procedures.
• Completes instrument cleaning, sterilization and post-op sanitization of treatment rooms.
• Prepares dental materials and equipment as needed for scheduled treatments.
• Completes dental charting.
• Is responsible for inventory supply and other ancillary duties.

Dental Assistant II Essential Requirements

• DAII Training or equivalent
• Preferred 2-5 years of Dental Assistant experience
• Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program
• CPR certified, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire
• Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients
• Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software a plus
• Regular and timely attendance
• Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and exercise good judgment ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and/or implement operating practices
• Ability to demonstrate a teamwork approach to job responsibilitiesAbility to demonstrate initiative, dependability and promptness
• Must perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail
