Job summary

Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry in Garner, IA is seeking a Full Time Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our caring team and support pediatric patients with gentle, accurate care.

The role involves assisting the dentist, presenting treatment plans, scheduling patients, sterilizing instruments and maintaining supplies; DAII training and CDA certification are preferred, with CPR and knowledge of Eaglesoft or Denticon a plus.

Qualifications

• DAII training or equivalent
• 2–5 years dental assistant experience preferred
• CDA certification or radiological equivalency completed
• CPR certified or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire
• Ability to present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance to patients

Responsibilities

• Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment
• Functions as a treatment coordinator and presents treatment plans to patients
• Schedules patient appointments to accommodate obstacles
• Maintains dental instruments, supplies and equipment
• Collects and records patient health histories
• Assists with patient management during procedures
• Completes instrument cleaning, sterilization and post-op sanitization of treatment rooms
• Prepares dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatments
• Completes dental charting
• Responsible for inventory and other ancillary duties

DENTAL ASSISTANT II KEY COMPETENCIES

• Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment

DENTAL ASSISTANT II QUALIFICATIONS

To successfully perform the job responsibilities for the position of Dental Assistant, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Dental Assistant II Essential Requirements

• DAII Training or equivalent
• Preferred 2-5 years of Dental Assistant experience
• Achieved CDA certification, or completed radiological equivalency exam through NC State Board of Dental Examiners, or completed CODA-accredited dental assisting program
• CPR certified, or will become CPR certified within 30 days of hire
• Ability to professionally present clinical information regarding treatment plans and insurance information to patients
• Knowledge of Eaglesoft and/or Denticon software a plus
• Regular and timely attendance
• Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and exercise good judgment ability to formulate, affect, interpret, and/or implement operating practices
• Ability to demonstrate a teamwork approach to job responsibilities
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, dependability and promptness
• Must perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail
• Must have the ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments within the practice, including traveling to other locations, with a positive approach
