Job summary

UNFI operates Cub Foods in New Brighton, MN. The deli clerk role involves food prep, assisting customers with prompt service, stocking and rotating displays, and helping receive products.

You’ll clean and maintain the department while adhering to store policies and delivering courteous service. Position requires standing long hours, lifting up to 60 lbs, and working varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Equipment operation and safety in a deli environment.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Basic math, reading and writing for labeling and communication.
• Casual to formal customer interaction with accuracy and courtesy.
• Ability to follow instructions when supervision is limited.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists with food preparation

• Sets, fills and rotates deli cases and displays

Job Requirements

• Equipment operation (compactor, coffee pot, pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, scales, Cry-O-Vac machine, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, food processor, pizza oven)
• Able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
• Memorization, reading, writing and math
• The position requires on-going customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing.
• Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age and older.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting/carrying up to 60 lbs.
• Pushing/pulling up to 1500 lbs.
