Oakwood School in Los Angeles seeks a Part-Time Debate Coach to mentor high school students in our expanding forensics program and report to the Head Debate Coach.

The role involves traveling to tournaments across California and the country, helping plan competition strategy, conducting weekly practices, and delivering lectures on current issues. You will provide about ten hours of tutoring per week and represent the school at meetings with area coaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree not required but preferred.
• 3–4 years prior competitive experience in PF/Policy/LD debate formats.

Responsabilités

• Travels to and judges at local, state, and national tournaments, with airfare/hotel/meals covered.
• Plans team competition strategy and handles event logistics.
• Aids in research and case-building; attends in-person weekly practices and leads drills.
• Prepares and delivers lectures on current issues and events.
• Provides approximately ten hours of tutoring per week.
• Represents the school at meetings with area coaches.
