Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty members to provide high-quality instruction and student support in accordance with the District's mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence.

Part-time faculty are responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive instruction that promotes student learning and achievement while supporting the diverse educational goals of the District's students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theatre with dance emphasis; OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in physical education, any life science, physiology, theatre arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts or music; OR the equivalent.
• Understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of Peralta Colleges' students, faculty, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities for part-time faculty.
