Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges. The role requires engaging, inclusive teaching and ongoing communication with students to support achievement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis OR
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND Master’s in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts or music OR
• the equivalent

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities as appropriate for part-time faculty.

Class Purpose

Part-time facultyare responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive instruction thatpromotes student learning and achievement while supporting thediverse educational goals of the District's students.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a Master’s degree in dance, physical educationwith a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis,OR
