Job summary

Legends is seeking a part-time Dance Instructor at McFetridge Sports Center in Chicago. The role focuses on pre-school to youth classes in ballet and tap, with Saturday morning availability and potential for more styles/days. Starting rate is $21/hour, plus paid lesson prep time and paid sick leave.

The instructor will create lesson plans, maintain safety, and support productions like recitals while providing engaging, age-appropriate instruction in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Red Cross CPR certification.
• Experience teaching dance to varied ages with knowledge of ballet and tap.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team.
• Availability on Saturday mornings; flexibility for additional styles/days if possible.

Responsibilities

• Instruct scheduled classes, start/end on time and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons.
• Lead instruction in a fun, safe environment and teach specific techniques.
• Assist with productions/recitals, possibly outside regular hours.
• Maintain a positive, safe, nurturing environment for all participants.
