Job summary

Town Of Freetown is seeking a part-time Investigator for the District Attorney Office. The role involves conducting investigations, interviewing suspects and witnesses, collecting and preserving evidence, and coordinating with various law enforcement agencies.

The incumbent must be on call 24/7, with potential night and weekend work, and will be treated as a Police Officer under NYS law. Minimum qualifications include six years of full-time law enforcement experience as an

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of full-time law enforcement paid work experience as an investigator or detective.
• Three (3) years of which must have been at a rank of Sergeant (Police Officer or Deputy Sheriff) or higher.
• Candidate must have current Certification from NYS Division of Criminal Justice showing validation of Police Officer Registry status; firearm certification and valid driver’s license throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigative work in the District Attorney’s Office, interview suspects and witnesses, collect and preserve evidence.
• Serve as liaison between the District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.
• On-call 24 hours a day; may work nights and weekends.
