Job summary

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Christiansburg is seeking a part-time Customer Service Technician to join our Christiansburg Customer Service Center team. This wage position focuses on delivering top-tier service in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You will assist with DMV policies, issue identification cards, process applications, conduct vision screenings, tests, and manage registrations and payments.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using a personal computer or other automated systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work Monday–Friday and Saturday.
• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and completing assignments on time.
• Driving records should have a point balance of less than six demerit points and no major convictions.
• Experience working in a team or group environment.
• Can lift 10–25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clearly explaining DMV policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Issuing identification cards and processing customer applications.
• Administering vision screenings, knowledge exams, and in-car road tests.
• Processing vehicle registrations, titles, tax and fee payments, and other DMV services.
