Job summary

Family Dollar in Cedar Bluff, AL is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to assist customers, process transactions at the register, and help restock and maintain the store. The role emphasizes friendly interactions, safety, and accurate cash handling.

The position requires the ability to lift 30–50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform various store duties as needed. Prior retail or service experience is preferred, with a focus on reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
