Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking a Part-time Customer Service Associate to join our Smithtown store, delivering a friendly, efficient shopping experience for every guest. You will assist customers with questions, process sales at the register, stock shelves, unload merchandise, and help keep bathrooms, floors and stock areas clean and organized.

The role emphasizes safety, respectful interactions with customers and teammates, reliability in following instructions, and the ability to lift items

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store
• Other duties as assigned
