Job summary

Family Dollar in Portage, PA is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions, stock the store, unload merchandise, and maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the premises.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs. This is a part-time position and requires flexible, dependable team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
