Job summary

City of Reading, PA is seeking a Part-Time Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned facilities. Responsibilities include dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently in an office/light industrial setting. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds. Prior custodial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid PA Class C driver’s license preferred.
• At least five (5) years of custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities

• Dusting / vacuuming carpets, mats, and rugs.
• Sweeping and mopping of floors.
• Thorough cleaning of all bathrooms / locker rooms.
• Keeping the exterior of the building clean which may include shoveling/snow removal, leaf clean up, etc.
• Perform all duties assigned.
• The Custodian must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of the job.
