POSITION INFORMATION

• Baker School District is currently seeking a candidate for a Part-Time Custodian I position for Haines Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Start Date: ASAP.

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining district facilities and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Work in cooperation with other maintenance and custodial staff to maintain facilities and equipment in proper working order throughout the district.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the building, equipment, and grounds in a neat and clean manner, complete minor repairs as required, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Perform custodial duties after school events and sports games.
• Regularly clean and decontaminate building, equipment, and work areas after contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials to help prevent blood borne pathogens.
• Prepare rooms for various functions in the building, maintaining building security.
• Direct all maintenance requests to appropriate supervisor and ensure that related repairs are completed in a timely manner.
• Handle staff requests based on the work schedule and safety issues, prioritize and respond accordingly.
• Regularly inspect facilities for normal wear and tear, vandalism, safety hazards, etc., and ensure that proper maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
• Assist with student supervision in custodian's duty areas.
• Participate in in-service and/or professional development programs, funded by the district, when requested by administrator/supervisor.
• Comply with all applicable district, state, and federal policies and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY

• Based on 2026-2027 Salary Schedule, the hourly wage is $19.14 - $24.45 per hour. Placement on the salary schedule will be in accordance with the BSD 5J/OSEA collective bargaining agreement.
• Baker School District 5J offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for health and retirement. In addition, the District pays the six percent (6%) employee PERS contribution required by ORS 238.200 and ORS 238A.330.
