Job summary

Columbia Gorge Community College in The Dalles, Oregon, invites applications for a Part Time Custodian/Facilities Technician I to keep College buildings clean, safe, and orderly. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, two years of related experience or equivalent, knowledge of floor care equipment, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of floor scrubbing, carpet shampooing and floor polishing equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning agents, solvents, detergents, and polishing agents.
• Must have knowledge of standard custodial practices, procedures and techniques.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Understanding and application of safe work practices.
• Must pass a background check.
• Experience promoting equity-minded and diversely represented communications and materials, and responsiveness to diverse backgrounds in a college setting.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, dusts and polishes lighting fixtures, surfaces, pipes, and furniture.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas.
• Operates floor care equipment to sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors.
• Cleans carpets and rugs; maintains cleanliness of windows and walls.
• Transports trash and recycling; restocks restroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs and performs basic maintenance.
• Sets up rooms and events; moves tables and chairs as needed.
• Monitors energy use of equipment and applies power-saving modes.
