Job summary

Columbia Gorge Community College is seeking a Part Time Custodian/Facilities Technician I to help keep our campus buildings clean, safe, and orderly. This is a part‑time position with a flexible schedule of 15–20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Two years experience or education/experience combo
• Knowledge of floor scrubbing, carpet shampooing and floor polishing equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning agents including solvents, disinfectants, detergents, and polishing agents
• Knowledge of standard custodial practices, procedures and techniques
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Understanding and application of safe work practices
• Experience promoting equity-minded communications and responsiveness to diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Cleans, dusts and polishes lighting fixtures, horizontal and vertical surfaces, pipes, screens and handrails
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor surfaces manually or using power equipment
• Cleans carpets using power equipment or manually
• Dusts furniture and equipment and polishes metalwork
• Washes walls, whiteboards, ceilings, and woodwork; washes windows and sills
• Empties waste baskets and recycles; transports trash to disposal areas
• Replenishes restroom supplies; replaces light bulbs
• Performs basic maintenance on fixtures and furniture; sets up tables/chairs for events
• Monitors energy usage and sets equipment to power save modes as needed
• Other duties as assigned
