Job summary

The City of Hanford is seeking a part-time Custodian in the Public Works Department - Building Maintenance Division to perform cleaning tasks in City facilities, assist with room setup for meetings and events, and carry out minor maintenance duties.

The successful candidate will clean restrooms, floors, surfaces, and windows, operate cleaning equipment, and contribute to a safe, orderly environment for staff and the public.

Qualifications

• One year of responsible custodial work experience.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures, floors and mirrors; replenish soap and paper goods.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop and polish floors.
• Dust and clean work surfaces including desktops, furniture and woodwork.
• Move and rearrange furniture and other equipment for meetings and special events as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance projects such as painting or plumbing work.
