Job summary

Easterseals Redwood is seeking a part-time custodian to join our facilities team. Under supervision of the Facilities Manager, you will clean all rooms, restrooms, and common areas, perform floor care, stock supplies, and support grounds needs to keep our facility safe and welcoming for employees, clients, and visitors.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed; pay starts at $16 per hour with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in all areas daily or as assigned.
• Operate floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Close the building as required (lights, HVAC, doors, security).
• Remove waste daily or as scheduled.

Position Summary:

This position, under direction of the Facilities Manager and delegated supervision of the Maintenance Lead, conducts all cleaning, stocking or materials and supplies and responds to all custodial radio calls for Redwood facilities and grounds. The custodian cleans all rooms, common areas, offices and restrooms; performs floor care and maintenance and assists the maintenance staff with buildings and grounds needs as required. This position maintains, in good clean condition, all areas of Redwood; providing a safe, clean, comfortable and well-functioning facility to fulfill the needs of the organization; employees, clients and our visitors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in all common areas, program rooms, offices and restrooms daily or as assigned.
• Skills and abilities must include professional floor care and safe and adequate use of floor polishing and stripping equipment.
• May be required to close the building, including turning off lights, adjustment of heat/air conditioning, closing of windows and doors, and activation of the security system.
• Removes all waste and trash from all areas daily or as assigned/scheduled.

Education/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in custodial work preferred
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
