Job summary

Chicago Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) is seeking a diligent part-time custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of our Senior Center. This 20-hour-per-week role is four days a week, on-site in the Chicago area.

You will perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, bathroom restocking, and basic maintenance, ensuring a sanitary environment for program participants and staff. Training is provided, and you’ll report needs promptly to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping and mopping all tiled flooring including washrooms, activity rooms and kitchen area.
• Regular dusting as needed.
• Vacuum all carpeted flooring on first floor and Executive Director's office on 2nd floor.
• Clean all spills as needed.
• Collect and empty trash cans on first floor and 2nd floor office and dispose trash into dumpster daily.
• Restock paper and soap supplies in first and second floor bathrooms.
• Report any needs and concerns to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• The ability to manage your time efficiently and work well when the supervisor is not present.
• Communicate needs related to inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Performs similar and other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a diligent and reliable part-timeCustodian (20 hours per week), to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of our Senior Center. T he ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning, minor maintenance, and tasks to ensure a professional and sanitary environment for all participants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Consistently promotes interactions and activity that reflect the Mission and Values of the organization while demonstrating and ensuring person centered customer service and participant interactions.

• Sweeping and mopping all tiled flooring including both washroom floors, activity rooms and kitchen area regularly.
