Job summary

Overture Center for the Arts is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 to perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks under general supervision. This part-time role involves a variety of custodial duties and adherence to established routines.

The position requires flexibility for Friday mornings, Saturday nights, and Sunday mid-days, averaging about 20–25 hours weekly. Education includes a high school diploma or GED with 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 0–2 years relevant training or experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and methods used in building cleaning.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform heavy manual work and long hours; work around patrons.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial tasks: sweep, mop floors and stairs; clean glass; empty trash; dust; vacuum; clean toilets, sinks, and stone surfaces; polish brass and chrome; maintain floors; operate custodial equipment.
• Move furniture, set up and arrange rooms.
• Perform maintenance checks and security tasks; respond to HVAC alarms and BAS; manage building safety during shift; file maintenance reports.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
