Job summary

The Pavilion at Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking a Curling Instructor to teach curling rules, skills, and safety, while engaging with the community and operating within our facility.

This part-time, winter-season role starts October 6, with classes Fridays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (plus setup and tear-down). You will plan lessons, monitor participant progress, adapt activities, and maintain equipment and records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or currently attending high school.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Some previous work, training/certification or volunteer experience related to position.
  • Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct curling classes and lead activities with a safe, enjoyable experience.
  • Creates daily class plans within established guidelines and curriculum.
  • Oversees the safety, comfort and progress of participants.
  • Adapts activities as needed to meet the abilities and needs of individuals.
  • Prepares equipment, materials and supplies required for conducting activities.
  • Sets up, takes down, and cleans-up after class as required.
  • Completes required class records, progress reports, certificates, etc.
  • Responds to accidents and incidents according to procedures.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of facilities and equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with the public including providing accurate information related to work assignment and responding to patron and parent questions and concerns.
  • Acts as a Mandatory Reporter; reports incidents of child abuse/neglect.
