Job summary

Boys Town is seeking a Crisis Counselor in Omaha, NE to provide compassionate, solution-focused support via phone, text, or chat. Starting pay is $17.50–$18.50 per hour, full-time or part-time, with weekend requirements and some holidays; on-site at the Omaha hotline center.

Responsibilities include handling crisis conversations, de-escalation, and referrals, while documenting interactions with strict confidentiality. Benefits include health, retirement, paid time off, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s preferred and required for some programs.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Computer literate, able to take notes while talking to callers.

Starting Pay: $17.50–$18.50/hr (plus shift differential if applicable) Full-Time or Part-Time: Both Available Shifts: This is a 24/7 hotline so shifts may be available throughout the day. At least one weekend day is required for all counselors. Some holidays will be required as well (at 2x pay). Please note: this is NOT a remote position. Our hotline center is located at 144th and Pacific/Dodge in Omaha, NE.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Sedentary office work with standard computer use
  • Minimal physical risks in a typical administrative setting
