Job summary

Wasatch Behavioral Health is seeking an in-office Credentialing Specialist for our Westpark Family Clinic in Provo, Utah. This part-time role supports a full-time credentialing specialist with Medicaid, NPI enrollment, and selective private insurer credentialing, ensuring regulatory compliance.

The position handles licensing verification, file maintenance, and data integrity in EMR systems; it also assists with funding coordination and eligibility tasks across the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in administrative support, healthcare credentialing, billing, insurance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with provider enrollment, credentialing, and recredentialing for Medicaid, NPI, and select private insurance networks.
• Review and process credentialing applications for accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Verify provider licenses, certifications, NPI numbers via primary source verification.
• Create, maintain, and audit provider credentialing files and databases.
• Track application statuses and follow up to meet credentialing deadlines.
• Support funding coordination by helping maintain client out-of-pocket costs and eligibility.
• Update provider information within electronic medical records and other internal systems when changes occur.
• Update client information within EMRs as insurance and Medicaid change.
• Work with providers to give funding information about clients at scheduled appointments.
