Job summary

Grand Canyon University in Phoenix seeks an adjunct faculty member for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to teach Relapse Prevention in the Treatment of Addiction and Substance Use Disorder. This part-time, in-person role focuses on engaging lectures, discussions, and mentoring students in a smaller class setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or higher in counseling or related field and is licensed (LPC or equivalent), with at least 2 years of addictions experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Professional Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Current LPC or Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Counselor.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in addictions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
