Job summary

PARKVIEW in is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Staff Occupational Therapist in resident care and documentation within a skilled nursing setting. The TA will treat residents as directed, ensure accurate records, and maintain a safe, compliant environment for therapy sessions.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, training Restorative Aides, and educating residents and families on treatment goals and home programs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state.
• CPR certification if required by licensure.
• Continuing education requirements per state practices.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist nursing with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising occupational therapist to update physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of necessary durable medical equipment to aid independence in ADLs.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information and company data.
• Identify and report equipment problems; support QA and program development.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
